Turning to the theatre when an injury ended his dreams of becoming a professional football player, international film star Antonio Banderas got his first big break at 22 in 1982 when he caught the eye of legendary Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. It was with Almodóvar that Banderas worked in a series of films that brought both to the international stage. His Hollywood breakthrough came in 1993's Philadelphia which helped him secure future roles alongside some of the industry’s biggest stars. Banderas has been nominated and has won numerous awards in both the Spanish and Hollywood film industries and has received a Tony award nomination for his stage work. He is one of the most successful Spanish artists and his personality and outlook makes him one of Hollywood’s most alluring and attractive men. It is this optimistic sense of self which has helped Banderas promote his fragrances for men and women with positive results on the international stage.
